We have a dog that is about 9 months old. she hasnt had much interaction with other dogs so we are trying to socialize her with my dogs which aregood with other dogs. What is the right way to introduce her to them? how can we help her trust other dogs?
One of my dogs has some social issues. She barks at the door bell, people and other dogs. She’s is very sweet to me though. Now we found a stray dog in our yard one day and had to help it. So now we have two and our first dog won’t get along with the stray dog. And we can’t give the stray dog away because no one will take him. If anyone has any advice on what I should do please help. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Dog shot, three arrested during Brookneal incident
A dog was shot to death and three people were arrested after a fight Saturday in Brookneal in which a pit bull attacked a police dog.
When she first meets a dog she automatically tries to establish dominance. If the other dog is submissive, things are fine, but at times she just doesn’t get along with others–especially if it’s an adult dog. Is there a way that I can be the dominant one and keep her from doing this with other dogs or do I just need to let the dogs work it out.
I adopted a second dog about 2 months ago. Both dogs sleep in the guest bedroom, and our new dog hides out there all day, while our other dog loves being out in the living room or wherever we are at. New dog is about 3 years old Golden Retriever/Chow mix. Other dog is about 1 year old German Shephard mix.

We’ve been taking our 5 month old Boxer Cross to the dog park for a few weeks now. Almost every dog there plays very well with him, or just ignores him as older dogs will do.
However, there is this one 2 year old Husky that will single him out, run him down, grab his throat, slam him to the ground and hold him there until someone pulls him off. There could be 20 other dogs at the park, but as soon as our dog makes his entrance we’ll see this Husky come running from the other side of the park to take him down.
We understand the dominance factor and that the Husky may be trying to set the tone and let my dog know who’s boss. But other pups and dogs who show up never get the same kind of “welcome” from the Husky as ours does.
Dog treats are a good way to give your dog extra health, nutrients and vitamins in addition to their regular healthy meals each day. There are an array of different dog treats on the market today ranging in size, taste, texture and ingredients. There are treats on the market that are geared towards dog teething, or helping with the prevention of tarter build up and healthy gums.
Some treats are specifically made for puppies or for senior dogs, while other treats have specific ingredients for healthier bones and boost their immune system. Treats come in almost any flavor you can think of from the traditional beef and cheese flavors to vegetable flavors, mint flavors, cookies and fruits. You can buy treats that fit into your personal lifestyle such as organic treats and vegetarian treats.
